Safe All-Terrain Vehicle Operation

The Safe All-Terrain Vehicle Operation article featured in Utility Safety magazine was written in 2000 by Bill Siuru and myself about winter hazards and operating All-Terrain vehicles.  In addition to discussing winter hazards some OSHA citations involving snowcat operations were discussed.  These citations were based upon an employer having workers in a remote area doing potentially dangerous work while not having constant communications with those employees, and not being properly trained to recognize unique hazards.  It caused quite a stir at the time, and not much has changed in that time. Unfortunately, many employers still have a lack of regard for the importance of training their employees in the hazards they can face in these remote and dangerous situations.

I hope you enjoy it!
