As crews head out to their field locations around the country this winter, Safety One would like to ensure that employers will plan for the best and prepare for the worst. With heavier than normal snow levels expected throughout the US and Canada this 2013-2014 season, we would like to make sure that companies are up to speed on our top 5 list of critical items to be prepared. Let us begin this Monday with a word to the wise!
Operational requirements reviewed with crews
One of the most common causes for snow vehicle fatalities is operating outside of the OSHA and manufacturer guidelines for specific machinery. Make sure that operators who have not performed the task in the last 12 months have been refreshed on critical side hill angles, and operational controls including blade safety for the season.
